BP Australia Staff Goodwill Program

The Brief
Every 18 months to two years, BP Australia has to close down its Australian oil refinery in Brisbane for 5 weeks for routine maintenance.  This is a major exercise that requires the employment of hundreds of extra contract workers as well as BP staff.  It is critical to BP that all workers on the maintenance program are engaged, enthusiastic and motivated in order to ensure that the shut down takes as little time as possible.

The Execution

Promoshop® developed and produced a gift pack of BP-branded products for each of the 1500 ‘downtime’ workers. The gift pack included:

• Cooler Bag
• Aluminium drink bottle with insulated sleeve
• Medical kit
• Beanie
• Aluminium Vacuum Flask and car mugs in carry bag

The Result
The total package was packed and shipped as 1,500 separate units to the BP Brisbane refinery to provide workers with a functional, lasting gift.  It also provided BP with the opportunity to promote the company when contractors used their BP-branded products when working at other jobs.
